We cordially invite you to the next screening of our Ukrainian Cinema Club Berlin. On the occasion of International Children’s Day (June 1), CineMova will be screening the documentary “A House Made of Splinters” (2022) by Simon Lereng Wilmont on June 15, 2023. After the screening there will be a discussion of the film with our guest Dr. Bogdan Androshchuk (ChildFund Deutschland e.V.) and also a networking evening in the restaurant of Brotfabrik.
When and where: 15.06.2023, 8 p.m., Brotfabrik (Caligariplatz 1, 13086 Berlin).
Admission price: 8 € normal, 6 € reduced.
About the film:
The film takes place during the Russian war against Ukraine in 2019-2020 in the unoccupied part of eastern Ukraine in the frontline town of Lysychansk, Luhansk region. The film tells the stories of children from an orphanage. A small group of social workers takes care of children who have been temporarily separated from their parents and are waiting for a custody decision. Several educators are also portrayed who try to create a safe space for the children under the conditions of war.
The film will be shown in Ukrainian and Russian with English subtitles.
